Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well..first I have to say I truly liked this book a lot! I got it on my kindle last year and couldn't get past the first 10 pages. I thought..what is this nonsense? And put it down. Honestly I think I just missed my vampires (my usual reads)its now a year later and a friend told me I need to try again(thanks heather) and so I did. Boy was I glad! I literally stayed up till 1am reading and left 2 chapters to go. I finished it up at lunch..man..talk about an adrenaline rush! Abby and Travis may not be the most stable couple and they are extremely jealous whenever someone of the opposite sex looks at them or talks to them, but What couple do you know that didn't/don't feel like or act like that at one time or another? exactly!Yeah sometimes it's extreme but,who cares!love is supposed to be crazy, spontaneous and out of control..It wouldn't be love if it wasnt. but I believe they do love each other. Call it co-dependent, call it sick..I call it fiction! I like fluff books, if I wanted depressing and sad, I'd watch the news. If this isn't your type of book, then don't read it. I can't wait for Walking Disaster..though I'm a little scared of what crap is gonna happen in that one. I don't know if my head can take it..lol..I give this book 5 stars! Looking forward to meeting Jamie at our book store in April:) a must read in my opinion.

Pride and Prejudice Review

It took me longer than necessary to read this amazing book. It's so beautifully written. The characters are great! Though is it me, or did Mrs. Bennett work your last nerve? Dear god this woman was insufferable and bratty. She really despised Lizzy and for what reason I can't put my finger on. It was fairly close to the movie, minus a few things. But we won't get into that:)
I give this 5 stars..such a fantastic read and the best classic ever!

Rush by Maya Banks (review 2-16-13)

I got two words for this book..shock and awe!
It was a bit much for me to handle in the beginning, but as I read more it got better. The writing was good, but I guess I'm not an "erotica" type. I'm not judging anyone, but how can anyone read this type of stuff all the time? For me I have to take this in small doses. I can handle the sex and even some of the BDSM, what I couldn't handle is the guy Gabe being such a jerk! He had no personality. Mia was the same for me, she was just ok, nothing exciting and half the time i just felt embarrassed for her. I get that this is what happens in this type of lifestyle, but come on....you'd have to be a robot to do this nonsense, to be with someone purely for the sex, without love is impossible in my opinion. The last half of the book had a little more substance to it and it's what got me through. I'm sure I'll read the rest of the series when it comes out, because I need to see what happens:) Also, this book is quite a bit like fifty shades, sorry, but it is. Don't get me wrong, I liked fifty shades of grey as well and it was very tame compared to this:) With this being said, I will give it 3 stars. Decent story, too graphic for me..I know, what did I expect? Lol
It was very entertaining for sure and I give props to the author. She made everything very descriptive for sure. Oh well, call me old fashioned..back to Young/New Adult for me;)

Wow! This book..the whole series was amazing! All I have to say is, have some tissues on hand. Ethan's journey back from the other world is long and tiresome, but it's where he meets Xavier, the gate keeper and not exactly what we would think he'd be like..he finds a a friend in Ethan, something he's never had before. The settings are very descriptive and vivid. I love how these authors brought together the history of Gatlin and mixed It with the paranormal...What a great concept! I'm truly sad to see this series end, but so happy I finally read it. Now the bar is set high to try and find another series as amazing as this one. Thank you for sharing. I'd give it 10 stars if that was an option:)

Full Moon Kisses Review (1-29-13)

I guess my taste is a little more PG. Thanks for sharing your story Ms. Schreiber I did enjoy it. I thought this story was cute and definitely age appropriate 13 and up. I'm not sure if there will be another one, but in all honesty, I hope not. Some stories shouldn't go too long and this is one of them. The first few were great, but then it just seemed repetitive. But like I said, I did enjoy it. No disrespect to the author at all. Now that Celeste and Brandon are together what's next? Will Ryder come back into their lives? Or will he find the serum that Brandon threw away in the woods and be cured or will he continue to seek out Celest to make her his mate? All good questions. Until next time...

Blood Red Road Dustlands:1 Review

I'm sure there are a lot of people who thinks this is a good book, but I can't get past wanting to correct the grammar..lol..sorry. This is an excerpt:

“Yer in my blood, Saba, he says. Yer in my head. Yer in my breath, yer in my bones...gawd help me, yer everywhere. You have bin since the first moment I set eyes on you.”

So I downloaded the book on audio. It was much better than me wanting to edit every 2 seconds. This type of book just isn't for me. Post apocolyptic stories, are kind of depressing. With Saba on the hunt for her twin brother Lugh (pronounced Lou) she encounters lots of interesting creatures. From gigantic sand worms to hooded men who are trying to kill her. With her baby sister Emmie in tow, they are off to rescue Lugh. After getting captured and thrown in to cage fighting and meeting some new friends, they take down their captives and continue on the rescue mission, along with some new friends, inlcuding Jack, who has eyes for Saba since day one. This book took some time for me to get into, and it got my attention, when things started heating up for Jack and Saba...which was toward the end of the book..ugh! There has got to be romance people, come on! I give it 2 stars.

Beautiful Chaos-Review

This series just keeps getting better! What an emotional roller coaster ride. So glad Macon is back and kicking butt! He's my Myrnin(Morganville Vampires) I know they are "Casters" but to me, they are witches on steroids :)
Ethan, Lena, Link and gang are off again trying to beat the next moon..the 18th moon. Who will be sacrificed and who will be saved? Can Amma save the day, along with Macon's help or will Sarafin and Abraham claim Lena for themselves? You'll have to read it, to find out:) Now my friends, I'm off to read Beautiful Redemption!

Well done..as usual. Rachel Caine just keeps bringing the surprises. I couldn't put it down and couldn't read fast enough to see what happened next. With a new threat in town, to both vampires and humans, they had no choice but to join forces to take this "thing" that is called Draug out of existence. Is it really over for them? Or just the beginning of something new with "The Queen" will things go back to "normal" or will there be yet another fight on their hands? All I can say is, I can't wait to see! Love this series! One of my favorites. It was good to see Claire mature and kick butt again..who else is gonna protect her man Shane? And so happy for Michael and Eve. Wonder what myrnin will be up to next? Gotta love him! Great read! Up next...Bitter Blood!
